TEDDIE HOUSE
The Emirate of Sharjah, 2019

Design Direction
The preliminary objective of the design was creating a series of spaces that would be guarded from the surrounding neighbourhood. This was achieved by the semi courtyard that would become the focus of the house. As well as integrating perforated walls that divide the exterior into segments.
The other aim was to create a characteristic to the house that would be apparent to the user. An immediate vision the client had for an environment that would be his home, was ‘spaces where he would entertain his guests.’
Circulation and Spacing
The composition of floor plan allows for a constant engagement between interior and exterior. The engagement is also stimulated by the overlapping of the interior wooden panels against the exterior perforated concrete walls.
